1: A Backwards Glance
So we made it through 2022 alive and with some semblance of wholeness intact – well done. Still being here living and breathing is an achievement. It was a traumatic year in which all the seismic fault lines that separate people into false categories were rattled to capacity. We were steered and controlled through the divisive narratives which pushed ideologies over genuine ideas and reasonable debate. There were many egregious attacks on ordinary people – both physical and psychic- and we were forced to learn to consolidate and cultivate our inner defences for physical and mental health. The eclipses in October-November were particularly nasty as they opened the door to multiple challenges felt in the areas of banking, and personal emotional issues. The FTX scandal broke at that time. But we still feel reverberations from those eclipses.
The two phases of the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction were all pervasive as I predicted. Perhaps you did not pay attention as this energy was deceptive; it came on us like a seeping fog. This conjunction was active during April and November, wore away at all personal boundaries. This could have forced a deep immersion in the collective stew of private-public mergers, and into the deep end of dis and mis information. Not for the first time but this time more openly than ever, governments across the world appeared to openly nudge their own people towards centralised control, and oh what a tangled web they have woven to entrap us. All the documents revealing these plans and machinations have surfaced now so there is plenty of evidence. It is difficult to deny any longer, unless of course you prefer to cling on to your denial of abuse and trauma-wounding. Many it seems do prefer not to question anything as it is extremely painful to do so. It is a complex situation, but consider that it could be a kind of Stockholm Syndrome, where the abused continue to support their abusers, and few feel able to stand up to declare it as wrong. Moral turpitude is also stirred up in the cauldron as many are profoundly confused about what is going on and what to do about it. The lack of the ability to think critically and see through the lies is another form of sabotage as is the information overload and the multiple parallel narratives so difficult to deal with.
That Uranus clashing with Saturn energy the whole of 2022 provoked many uprisings across the world in Canada, Holland, Brasil which failed to get attention due to censorship. The world is a mess for a multitude of reasons but that Neptune-Jupiter conjunction in 2022 either freed you from illusions or bound you more than ever to those same illusions, maybe even some new ones, so that you became ever more victim to them. That’s the pain of the Neptunian attachment- it operates like a cult or like a drug addiction. In April, I said more people that ever would be exiting the planet as it was in the last decan of Pisces- the death and transformation decan- which is Mars ruled. Unfortunately, that turned out to be true with an alarming prevalence of stories entitled ‘Died Suddenly.’ The lack of proper explanation for these deaths should be massive cause for concern, but to me the loss of so many young athletes, the fittest of the fit, is utterly tragic and still not explained.
There are so many questions still lingering in the air ready to go off like gunfire. But one is “Do you relate to the real or the representation of the real?” This is crucial to understand. Zen Buddhists monks ask Is it the Moon itself or the finger pointing to the Moon? The label which tells you that is the moon is not the experience itself as Alan Watts explains. Which do you worship? Consider that if your actions are based on the representation – and that often comes in digitalised form- not the real, what does that say about you? Would you be willing to admit any mistakes? Is your grasp of reality sound or not?
Much of 2022 was not easy to digest and I, and many others, did not always have a good time of it. There were highs and lows and it is wise to take the view that the sweet is always accompanied by the bitter and life is about enjoying the contrasts. We get a mixed bag; pure good can lead to evil; and pure evil can tip over into the good. But I’m glad 2022 is over. The mess left behind is not so good; it’s laden with problems to solve so we have to face up to them. I am not fond of being pushed around by collective hysteria and psychosis, nor am I happy that our lives being determined by the flow of dark money and orchestrated chaos – we all deserve better than that. But the real pollution is in the media- the dark side of Mercury -is the Trickster with his relationship to figures such as Papa Legba, misleading us in our key decisions good and bad. Most people I speak to say that they have been through the rack in 2022 somehow, and are getting by day by day keeping themselves together. But that in itself is a success.
2: General Themes and Predictions for 2023
As we face 2023 we hopefully feel wiser and more discerning for it is likely to be a pivotal year. I did a rune cast on what to expect from the character of 2023 and got Peorth – the unknown. This rune could be likened to a dice cup, but is linked to Scorpio, so it could be a year when there is a release of a lot of mysteries or unresolved problems are explained. Secrets come to the fore in 2023. What may still be in the dark now may come to light. We should not worry as what emerges may be good for us in the long run, even though that may include shocks and surprises, and involve risk and it may cause discomfort. The outcomes are more authentic for all of that.

Mars goes direct on the 12th January and Mercury goes direct on January 18th which is the same day as the Sun is conjunct Pluto. This is soon followed by a New Moon in Aquarius. Then Uranus stations direct on January 22nd- the Chinese new year of the Water Rabbit cycling back to those born in the year 1963.This is super powerful energy and this marks the real start of the year that propels us into a massively accelerated year. There’s no doubt about it, we’ll feel that. It is all energy clearance and that makes way for the new. We have distilled the skills we needed over the retrogrades- both Mars and Mercury together even- and are now ready to move on even if that means a reversal of what we said or thought before.
What’s interesting is that the five moons starting in 2022 to 2023 are at 0 -1° so that’s a series marking a phase of new beginnings. Whatever the old guard would have us do, may be shifted in a landslide of the new. There’s a freshness on the way, a collapsing of some of the barriers as the disintegration of the monetary system proceeds. It could be said all this chaos of the last two years has been a smokescreen for the fact that the money system is toppling from the weight of mind-boggling levels of debt. This comes in spite of what appears to be an intense level of top-down control being unleashed on an unsuspecting public, with little respect to due process, or consultation, or human rights. These new beginnings mark the stage for some exciting developments could hold all that at bay or overturn it. The full moons – seven of them- occur mid-sign middle degree so there is fixity and getting deep into what culminates here, we’ll be in the thick of it for sure and determination is high.
There are major shifts coming in 2023. These will affect the collective and not just individual signs, so expect more turbulence and it will all start happening faster. But also be aware of what’s yours and what’s not. It is not selfish to do this. The collective trauma is one thing and the personal issues that come up due to our particular psychic DNA or karma may appear to take a back seat. In one sense the personal and the collective are not separate, but in another sense, it’s never been more important to become the individuated human, and to work on your shadow side and develop all the strengths you are capable of- to the point of being the hero of the story. We need to balance this out.
The pace picks up again massively in March as if someone steps on the accelerator into the fast lane. Every year we get a booster from the Vernal equinox, the zero point beginning of Aries, the world axis and the Astrologers’ new year. Spring starts in earnest then and trees and flowers blossom, and sap rises, but this March it coincides with two major planets shifting signs so that is mega movement in the heavens. We’ll need more than a seat belt to keep from being jolted by the changes. If you have been paying attention, you ‘ll be ready but if not look for the potholes in the road.
Mars starts the year still in Retrograde and is even out of bounds so it is an unruly energy and even going forward moves slowly until March when it moves into Cancer. We have not had a Mars like this for a long long time and it will be a relief when it moves if only slowly at first.
Pluto moves into Aquarius on March 28th. This would mean Pluto is in the house of a sign ruled by and Uranus. That can spark some radical changes for all concerned. This will be one to watch as it will be a taster of the immense transformations in law, in social reform in parallel communities that are to come. And they won’t come slowly, but fast. This period could echo the tumultuous times 240 years ago when Uranus was discovered and about which Wordsworth wrote
Bliss was it in that dawn to be alive,
But to be young was very heaven!
He was referring to period of turmoil especially in France and the Americas when the French Monarchy and Aristocracy was brought to an abrupt end via the storming of the Bastille and the rampant use of the guillotine. This is worth mentioning because starting with William Blake, Shelley, Byron, Coleridge and Wordsworth all poets are seers of a type were all ‘children of the revolution’. Their harping back to the land of Albion was not just romanticism but an opposition to industrialisation and the ‘mass’ age, hinted at Uranus in Taurus, but by the time of the French revolution in 1879, Uranus had moved into Gemini. So there was the explosion and dissemination of ideas about liberty, equality, fraternity and the rights of man, for good or ill as it did not turn out so well in practice. But it cleared away centuries of abusive top-down hierarchies. Uranus is poised to leave Taurus and enter Gemini in 2025 so it will be there again in two years time as Pluto is in Aquarius. Uranus was discovered in 1781 and when Pluto was at 6° of Aquarius. So there is this a circling back to that revolutionary era with this placement of Pluto. It effects the collapse of old systems and disseminates new ideas. 2023 lays the groundwork for a brand new phase of power shifting, to the point were power goes back to the people or at least there is potential for that.
Saturn moves into Pisces on March 7th. We’ll only see it move through the first seven degrees of Pisces in 2023. This could lead to the dispelling of the illusions as the hard task master asks us to question the ideas we cling to and is a wake up call to anything cultish, illusory and an imperative to rip the band-aid off all the claptrap. It could lead to massive influx of new artworks and creative projects but they have to be realistic and constructive- so sculptors and architects or spatial designers could come to the fore above those peddling illusions as in Hollywood. Saturn is the master teacher, master builder. So it could be rubber hits the road, the point at which the real and the unreal meet. Those boundaries could be sharpened up and all the porous areas that came in with last year’s Jupiter-Neptune conjunction identified and sealed up. A lot of wasted energy is poured into supporting things are just not real enough, or that do not concern us, foreign wars, weather events, and abstract agendas and Saturn here could help us to see that clearly and realistically, so we can focus where it is more useful.
It could also lead to more spiritual mastery and the mixing of science and spirituality, or new forms in the art world. What Fritjof Capra achieved with The Tao of Physics comes to mind- the fusion of science and mysticism. This proposes that science can be more mind-bending incorporating the para-psychological elements, quantum theory and that validates with what mystics down the ages have said all along, that the nature of our reality is less physical that spiritual- that there is an ecstatic dance of molecules spinning so fast but appearing to us as solid. The authenticity and integrity of the scientific method has been called into question in the last two years, as if studies can be paid for to skew the results, the empirical method is no longer empirical and will not add up to authentic science. Saturn here could make science real again by calling into question all the distorted results, and force researchers to become accountable. Saturn forces a ‘growing up’. There’s also a sense on a personal level of taking responsibility finally for your life path and your personal ‘god’ connection.
Saturn in Pisces as also very good for anyone doing yoga. It is good to establish that regular practice and make asana part of your routine. The discipline involved is always just showing up on the mat. But it may mean you break through the pose that always held you back- you finally ‘master’ it. Or to enhance your understanding of asana in to seeing how astrology is intimately connected to the body and psychic channels. This applies to any spiritual discipline to Tai Chi, Chi Gong and even just weight lifting if it is done with pure enthusiasm – It also sets the stage for when Saturn conjuncts Neptune and that will be a major conjunction. Saturn goes close to Neptune but then as it reaches 29° of Pisces- the last gasp exit and end point of the entire zodiac and Saturn-Neptune basically enter zero degrees of Aries together on the 14th February 2026. This will herald further major change as well and the true spiritual warriors can emerge while Neptune is in Aries and Saturn is there too.
The North and South lunar nodes move from Taurus-Scorpio to Aries-Libra in July in 2023. This is significant even though it happens every 18 months or so. So the emphasis will move from banking, money, resources to relationships, and how to maintain the balance between being independent and being attached how you relate to others from a position of authenticity.

There are four eclipses happening in 2023 and they usually come in pairs. The first pair is in April -May and another pair in October. The first one on April 20th is at the troublesome degree at 29° Aries so that contains a punch of the cumulative force of the warrior energy. Eclipses act like revolving doors, something exits while something else enters. Watch closely as these events not always apparent at the time of the eclipse and often do not seem connected. Often it is only in hindsight that you spot the link to the eclipse. The May 5th Lunar Eclipse is in Scorpio – the last in this sign for a while. Then on October 14th the Solar eclipse is in Libra again heralding the nodal shift into Libra.
Jupiter moves into Taurus in May so that sounds one good note for the year and Jupiter acts in a benevolent way in Taurus. This sign is ruled by Venus, so these are two have a generally positive vibe, high minded principles yet at the same time practical and economic. Whenever Jupiter and Venus get together, it brings blessings of good fortune and often money. It could increase your wealth and enjoyment of simple pleasures that make you feel good and keep you grounded.
Get your calendars ready to mark the days and dates when the shifts happen and notice your energy. Notice too where your progressed planets are, especially the Moon. This often makes the difference in how you feel these changes on an internal level and that can be hard to pin down but you’ll feel a subtle change in attitude. Too much importance is placed on external events in the news and on mainstream media but often these ‘events’ are constructed for a purpose and not real in the sense they do not have to affect you unless you let them affect you. It should go without saying that there are insane levels of disinformation and fearmongering out there, and construction of narratives for a purpose, not least coming from governments themselves. It is asymmetric and psychological warfare. Authorities entrenched in their power are not playing by the rules anymore so clinging to old institutions is useless as they are becoming obsolete, and may collapse at any time. So paying more attention to your internal psychic realm, your energy body, your chakras, what you are thinking at any given moment, could help you much more in the long run and having a few digital holidays from the news would be beneficial.
Be aware that you are never just your sun sign. Read below for your Moon sign and your Ascendant as well to gain a more multi-faceted picture. Return to this preview during the year to remind yourself of all the celestial events that might impact you. Check your natal chart too as general predictions here are based on placing your sign on the Ascendant and nothing can replace a personal reading where the placements can be read from your birth chart in the correct house placements offering a whole other layer of meaning and a much more bespoke kind of reading.

ARIES

For Aries Sun or Rising signs Jupiter is in your first house putting wind in your sails for any resolution, especially if it is a new gym routine, or physical training goal- better and more strategic exercise routines may be in order, or even getting a personal trainer. This is especially so when Mars, your ruler, moved forward from January 12th. Whatever your training plan is, get started and stick with it. Jupiter is there only until May and the breezy start to the year may slow down after that as it moves into your second house changing the focus to your self worth. This may bring a bit of luck your way too but just keep any gambling under control, or any risk-taking impulses. Keep it all in check.
You still have Chiron in your sign, moving fairly slowly. It does not move out of Aries until 2026, so be aware that vulnerabilities may still keep niggling away at your ego and identity, asking you to reevaluate you position in the world on a deeper level and triggering where you feel most sensitive. Take stock of all the lessons to be learned from that. While Chiron is here it is a good time to journal and acknowledge any weaknesses, perhaps there can some amazing healing here and the flaws you notice be turned into talents? The flaw that brings in the light somehow can be real and not just a poetic understanding of personal trauma. But often it means that we feel attacked on an ego level or feel alienated because of the effort it takes to self heal. This applies to those who have Chiron in Aries and/or in the First House natally as well.
The Sun enters your sign on March 20th and heralds the Spring Equinox so that is always a supercharged time of year, bursting with energy, and is worth celebrating. Mars was retrograde in Gemini for months and finally went forward on January 12th So look to where this is happening in your personal chart, but generally speaking, it might show up as obstacles among siblings with rivalries flaring up, or in communications generally where you may have reached an impasse with certain people not communicating any more. That can begin to be released from deadlock now and the relief may be palpable. Mars finally moves out of Gemini into Cancer on March 25th just at this point where everything is happening, and our energies may become more centered on feelings and in emotional realities.
Mercury is also traversing your sign from March 18th to so there may be heightened communications during that time. It even conjuncts Jupiter on March 28th and watch out for a gossip explosion on that day – perhaps keep some things to yourself at that time. But the main thing the attention is on you in March and April and it’s high peak when you’ll feel most energised during the year. Venus also enters Aries on April 11th so that’s another guest in the house keeping you very busy with social contacts and engagements. There could be some fun during this time.
When Saturn moves into Pisces on March 7th it will have a big impact on the collective. It may not appear to affect you at all, at least not obviously as it resides in the 12th house are, so its effects may be more subtle and subconscious with luminous authority figures appearing in dreams. It can definitely stimulate your dream life, bringing a greater interest in tracking your dreams or in lucid dreaming training where you become a kind of psycho-naut. Or you feel the need to actually organise a retreat and squirrel yourself away in the woods to restore peace, or do a Vipassana practice being silent for 10 days. At the very least it will stimulate your imagination to be more constructive about your art projects. This stays in this position until 2025 when Saturn moves into your very own sign of the warrior, so get ready for that on May 25th 2025. Perhaps use this period when it is in Pisces as a gentler preparatory mode for the tough boot camp that comes when the elder trainer Saturn gets the acolytes in shape for true mastery, nothing fake. Saturn hates fakes.
With Pluto moving into Aquarius, it may affect you in the area of groups and social contacts. There might be a greater interest in joining local groups or taking part in campaigns and that becomes more urgent and transformative. Again, look to where Aquarius is in your personal chart for sharper detail as to how it will manifest. If for example it is in a fiery house the 5th or the 9th , then it can impel you more revolutionary and rebellious thoughts, and that might take you by surprise.
When Jupiter moves into Taurus in May, it could feel good for you as it presides over your 2nd house and may bring some opportunities to increase wealth and security but you will have to work on your self esteem to establish that new level of security-it could easily get out of hand. When the Nodes shift into your sign in July the spotlight focusses upon you and your pioneer spirit again, obliging you to take action that push you beyond your edge and might seem ultra challenging. But it will trigger more of your ability to accept your life’s journey where you might have to do step up as leader and something for others. They will remain here for 18 months so the North Node will cross over any planets in your sign including your Sun so something fated is on the way.
TAURUS

For Taurus Sun or Rising signs this could be an interesting year. Better get ready as Jupiter is gearing up to move into your sign. But also the Nodes move out of your sign. That’s quite a good trade off. Jupiter in a sign ruled by Venus augurs well for expansion of all the good things, maybe even an increase in security, wealth and self worth or a stabilising of those resources. But it could also mean that you spend more, and there’s also the danger of eating more and putting on weight, so keep an eye on that. So you will have both Jupiter and Uranus in the house for a while and both of these archetypes are about freedom and the law, so it’s a good time to consider ways to free yourself from too many onerous duties. It could mean an influx of brighter, bigger and more innovative ideas about how to move your life forward. Jupiter will stay in Taurus until the 25th May 2024 so take advantage of its presence here while you can.
On Sept 5th however Jupiter retrogrades in Taurus from 15° Taurus back to 5° so anyone with planets at these points take note as the impact will be greater. There will be some back tracking to the early degrees and all those cherished travel plans and legal cases may be on hold for a while – things will not move forward as smoothly or easily.
One glowing element I also see for you Taureans is that since Venus is the ruler of Taurus, you might feel blessings from when it moves into Pisces on January 28th. Venus is ‘exalted’ in Pisces so that gives a lighter touch to her activity there . It is nice to have your ruler in such a heightened position, and love may become more elevated. elusive and idealistic for you, or your standards go higher, or the desire for mystical unions arises. But it could also make you idealise love and romance to the point where the daily reality can never satisfy you as your desires go beyond this 3D world. This Venusian tendency to spiritualise needs channeling into creative pursuits and inspiration for artwork or beautifying your surroundings. This feeling only lasts until February 21st when Venus moves into Aries and takes on a spunkier, feistier expression. Venus finally gets into your sign of Taurus on March 16th. This is a time for organising parties, events, meetings, buying a few new things for the house, or doing some beauty treatments and pampering of the body. She is moving quicky however and only stays here until April 11th, so enjoy those blessings while you can
There will be a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse in with the Sun in Taurus and the Moon intercepted by the earth over the Moon in Scorpio. This is on May 5th. Eclipses are the revolving doors of the cosmos- and are mind boggling in scope just thinking about the rotation and alignment of the Earth-Moon-and the Sun to throw shadows around and block each other out. They are linked to the nodal points which are thankfully shifting from your sign in July. Eclipses are not to be underestimated, but you may not notice what’s been sucked in and out of your life until it’s too late to do anything about it. The reverberations and after-shocks of eclipses can be felt by all signs.
Venus trines Pluto on April 11th which lends power to your sign in a harmonious way, increasing the depth of enjoyment in any social events you pursue. Venus enters Gemini on the same day however, so it may show up more in the world of communications. That day could be luminous indeed as the Sun conjuncts Jupiter making a bright and shiny statement to all to increase hope, optimism and faith in the future and that happening in your sign could give you a wonderful booster to expand your frame of reference.
Pluto in Aquarius for you will slowly but surely bring about a transformation in your public reputation and what kind of career you wish to have. There may be many changes in this arena over the next few years and you may end up in a completely different role than the one you started out with.
Saturn moving into Pisces for you might bring more realism into which groups you wish to belong to and how much you can commit to any of them. It may increase the seriousness of your humanitarian concerns. Just be careful not to impose ideas on others. There may be a paring back of all that you do for social groups.
The Lunar Nodes moving into Aries-Libra in July will be a relief they have moved out of your sign, This removes some of the challenges you’ve felt about money over the past two years and hopefully you have all that sorted by now. However, this feeling of benevolence will have a last gasp and could become exaggerated when Jupiter conjuncts the North Node on June 1st.
GEMINI

Geminis kick off the year with Mars still retrograde in their sign. This has been a bummer for all of us as we all have Gemini somewhere in our charts and for Sagittarians it’s directly opposite their sign. But Geminis have had to bear the burden of this dragging back on physical drives. This has caused no end of delays, setbacks, obstacles, and an energetic drain on the body, with heavy fatigue more than usual, and even nervous complaints could have cropped up, or weird feelings of agitation and heightened tension. It has not been easy but especially not for Geminis as it has probably directly aspected your natal planets and your Sun placement or affected your usual willingness to talk. It finally goes forward on January 12th so we can breathe easy again and really get going with our real conversations or with gym and yoga routines and energies become more aligned and your health may feel better. Mars here has probably sapped your energy and drive as it spent so many months in your sign. Mars finally leaves Gemini to enter Cancer on March 25th. Hopefully, you did not have to have surgery during this time and with Mars here, it could have caused complications, but at least now you may know you have extra stamina and courage to face the rest of the year with renewed vigour.
Mars would have affected all the mutable signs Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces. But you are a mutable adaptable sign so you may have taken this all in your stride due to your innate versatility. If so, that’s great but just be aware of getting your sleep patterns in order and you may need to build up your body again after the months of Mars being there. It is still not moving that fast. It may have highlighted certain physical weaknesses you were ignoring so by the end of January you’ll feel stronger, and by March feel the relief of Mars being out of your sign and you can relax a bit more.
Pay attention when Mercury goes retrograde this year as he is so significant for your sign so you might feel the impact more. Mercury is the magician and trickster in his fullest archetypal role, very diverse in his manifestation. He’s the great connector, networker, translator of ideas acting as bridge wherever there are gaps. Check where Mercury is in your natal chart. If it is in Gemini close to your sun, then you are blessed. If it is in Aries or Taurus, you will be less of the talkative versatile type of Gemini and more focussed or determined.
Mercury moves forward from January 18th accompanied by a new moon in Aquarius. Then April 21st Mercury retrogrades in Taurus until May 15th. Then pay especial attention again on August 24th when Mercury goes retrograde in its own sign of Virgo – fellow mutable sign- where he is particularly strong. He moves forward again Sept 15th. The final Mercury retrograde period for 2023 is from December 13th starting in Capricorn moving back into Sagittarius, then moving forward on January 2nd 2024. Just expect delays and don’t be surprised if any travel tickets have to be renegotiated or corrected or any plans changed.
Pluto moving into Aquarius for you might herald the return of the need for long distance travel, or a deep reevaluation of principles, beliefs, and philosophies. Saturn moving into Pisces might bring a sense of realism in your work and reputation. Either you are obliged to work a lot harder, especially if it is for artistic pursuits, or you become of workaholic and have to cut back on work commitments. Saturn will do an audit of your work sector.
With Jupiter in Taurus you may have inspiring dreams that guide you in your choices from the hidden realms. When the lunar Nodes move into Aries-Libra, it may encourage you to do more work through the groups that you belong to and relaxing too much into fun times, may not be the best to fulfil your destiny. So focus where your energy is most needed.
CANCER

The year kicked off with a powerful Full Moon in your sign of Cancer on January 6th so I hope you enjoyed the full flood of emotions that root you to your world and make you very effective within in. It is the ideal time to reconnect with your loved ones, get in touch with innermost feelings which can often tell you exactly what’s what with that inspired intuition of yours. Rituals to honour the moon are especially effective for you to attune yourself to the astral world. This full moon is good to reflect in water sit by a lake or waterfall, or have a long hot salt bath and do some visionary work and assess what’s completed from 2022 and prepare for 2023. Perhaps connect with the goddess Salacia who rules sea water, and mineral water and who is the consort of Neptune. She is the shimmering light on the water too. The full moon is at 16° mid sign so more determined to reach its goals. It is trine to Uranus which brings fresh ideas and it was connected to fixed star Sirius.
Mars was in Gemini for several months which means it has been exhausting you in the bedroom, hopefully in a good way, and not violently but stimulating your subconscious. It enters your sign on March 25th just after the vernal Equinox and stays there the whole of April. Mars is not always so happy in Cancer and his hot headedness can produce some steam as it tries to express itself directly but gets thwarted. But it could bring some needed extra physical stamina to you, just beware of overreaction or any irritation/inflammation especially if your Sun is in the sixth house. But Mars in your sign is a pep up, even bringing an extra zing to your fitness schedule and ability to get things done in the day. Mars moves on into Leo on the 21st May so it expresses it self in more of a playful, boisterous manner in that sign.
You probably feel eclipses more than most as each one involves one or more configurations of the moon with the earth and the sun. So these are in April-May and October-November. These are also pivotal times of the year. Watch for major changes all around these points. The day of the solstice too is hugely important as it is such a marker of the year when the Sun is at zero degrees of Cancer on June 21st. Find some way to celebrate this. Follow the moon phases if you do not already do so and time our actions to seed and grow from the new moon to the full moon, and then to nourish and reflect when the moon is waning from full moon to the next new moon. Aligning with the moon is natural for you and can enhance your being truly in tune with your deepest energies so use a moon-phase tracker to do this.
When Pluto moves into Aquarius this could bring about major transformations in shared resources or through deep bonds and partnerships. But Pluto rolls back and forth over the zero point of Aquarius a few times, hovering over the 29° point for months, so if that opposes any planet or point in your sign, it could be a very testing period where lots of things culminate in challenging ways.
With Saturn in Pisces however it brings about a reformulation or a tidying up of your beliefs, where you might adopt a stricter morality in those beliefs or follow laws and principles in a way you did not before but it also might inspire you to be creative in the spiritual arts.
The North Node is moving into your 10th house area which points you towards a change in career if you can muster the energy to do that. Over-reliance on staying at home may become your comfort zone so keep in mind that to rethink your career is the real challenge.
LEO

Leos should always keep an eye on where the sun is at any moment as they can take big cues from the expression of the sun in each sign throughout the year as the sun is your signature star casting its light everywhere into all the other zodiac signs. In a way Leos encompass them all as it is the Sun’s path that is celebrated throughout the zodiac wheel. This is the peak of the year for its light rays in July and August. It is the height of the dignity and royalty of the sun and it is interesting that this concept of royalty may be transposed to individual sovereignty- that’s that little bit of Leo in all of us- that establishes the need to take charge of our own souls and to be King or Queen in our own domain and to be in service to none.
The equinoxes and solstices are important for you as these are marker points for the sun entering the Cardinal signs: Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. But the big arrival this year for Leos is when Venus shows up in your sign on June 5th. She is going all the way to almost the end of your sign, then retrogrades back, so that means intensive Venusian rethinks may be required, not just of Leos but from all of us if we know where Leo sits in our charts. But Leos in particular as you would have to be on the alert for when Venus conjuncts your natal Sun and any other planets you may have in Leo, quite possibly Mercury too. Venus retrogrades are hugely important and not to be overlooked as some second class Mercury retrogrades- the impact can be much more profound. Venus in Leo is very comfortable and expressive, quite dynamic and playful even, especially through artistic expression, singing or dancing perhaps. Performers shine with Venus here. But there is some reevaluation need that could bring about a drama of some kind where you have to go back and sort things out that were not sorted first time around. The degrees she traverses are from 28° Leo back to 12°. So check if you have any planets in this range to see what the more detailed story could be about.
There is a full Moon in Aquarius on August 1st – Aquarius is your opposite sign and may appear to lack the feeling that you have in your personal splendour. But one beautiful aspect is when the Sun conjuncts Venus on August 13th which is a kind of glory day when you’ll feel the beneficence of this. The Sun illuminates Venus and Venus radiates warmth to the Sun. Just watch for overspending on these days and being too generous. But it is clearly a good day to have a party or to host a performance of some kind, go to the theatre and enjoy all the finery that that entails. A few days after that is a new Moon in Leo on August 16th so this is good too for focussing on plans coming up.
For you when Pluto moves into Aquarius this rules your 7th house area and there will definitely be an overhaul of your relationships and partnerships and how you feel about those. The real changes will not happen until 2024 when Pluto stays for the long haul in Aquarius. You may end up in a very different place from where you started over the next decade and with different partners.
With Saturn in Pisces it could bring an audit to your shared finances and that might be tricky as it is an area of deep bonding with others and that can be painful to disentangle. When Jupiter moves into Taurus this could bring lots of work opportunities that if you are ready to take up, may help promote your reputation and develop your career.
With the lunar nodes shifting in July your 9th house becomes more into view and the challenge here is to direct your life towards reviewing all your thoughts, religious beliefs and the underlying philosophy that is your modus operandi. That might not be easy as everyone is experiencing a shift in paradigms at a radical level, but it might be needed in order to move ahead.
VIRGO

For Virgos the year is as full of change as it is for everyone else. But Virgos have a resourceful way of managing very well on very little so you’ll keep to your tidy little corner and be master of that and stave off a lot of problems that way. If anyone is an expert on ‘change management’ it is Virgo. You’ll do it in a perfectly methodical and organised way, nothing spontaneous.
One thing to watch for however is that when Saturn moves into Pisces, this means it is opposite your sign, so as it moves slowly through Pisces, it will be in opposition to your Sun at some point and any other planet you have there natally. That might be a restriction on your energy or a feeling of having to stall any personal plans until things settle down. It is not necessarily bad, as long as you see the advantage of Saturn is to master the tasks that you were putting off, and to stick at goals no matter what. He’s the stoic philosopher of the zodiac, asking you to be patient. Clever Virgos know how to make best use of his constructive energy to channel all that into creative projects that require intense concentration and focus on details. You might try your hand at some journalling if you have not already as that could be helpful.
Keep an eye on Mercury too as he is your mascot really and is a much more profoundly diverse archetype than people realise with Trickster energy in the mix. So when Mercury moves into Gemini on June 12th- it can be nice for you too as Gemini is your twin sign. Mercury speeds up all talking, learning, social media communications, so this can be a period when all that is highly active, maybe even overwhelming. Considering a digital holiday is a good thing these days to increase your sense of well being. Pace and limit the communications well. Mercury zips through Leo, spending only 19 days there. It moves into your sign of Virgo on July 29th. So the same kind of flurry of discussions can happen for you affecting you more directly in the way you appear to others.
Mercury in Virgo is in his own house and so fully functioning there, but it gets as far as 21° Virgo and then backtracks to 8°. So as with all retrogrades, check what the story is by checking which planets are positioned within these degrees and forming any aspect to them. This will give pointers as to what it is that needs redoing and reviewing. The story will not be over until it’s done.
The Sun is conjunct Mercury on September the 6th intensifying all channels of communication and bursting with the sun’s rays. What messages do you think Mercury is asking you to receive? It would be good to ask this question now and write down all the ideas that come to you. On September 15th Mercury goes direct and so business deals, or contracts or writing projects can proceed with fewer delays from this day on, but remember that Mercury occupies a shadow period too. Mercury finally moves on into Libra October 6th. Interesting too that Mercury trines Jupiter twice during September. First on September 4th and on September 25th so there certainly will be an easy flow of information and expanded learning or you just might get some pretty big ideas you’d like to implement if you have the resources.
When Pluto goes on the move it will prevail over the area of your body’s health and your daily routines, so there could be some massive reformation about to occur here, where you radically transform your approach to any psycho-somatic complaints, allergies and so on, so as to finally resolve them with new healing habits.
With Saturn in Pisces you may finally have a clear-eyed sorting out of attitudes towards the loved ones in your life, how do you really stand with them. It is not necessarily bad, just a bit more serious in tone, and could be good to figure out constructively creative ways to resolve any issues. When the Lunar nodes move into Aries-Libra, the North node moves into your 8th House, so you may be affected in the deeper emotional bonding you have with anyone, family, or lovers and that might require your constant attention.

LIBRA

For Libran Sun, Moon or Rising signs: Librans may have felt restless while Mars was in Gemini perhaps you have been involved with someone from another country as Gemini rules your 9th house and Mars being there will have stirred things up. Relationships are always important to you, but during 2022 to 2023 the importance of your your partners and mates comes much more strongly to the fore. When Mars went direct on January 12th you may have feel the go-ahead button has been pressed and you can get on with your plans or you have passed some marker that makes you sure about your partner.
Libra is ruled by Venus so you should pay attention to how Venus is rapidly moving though the signs; and then when it gets to Leo goes retrograde so there may be a dramatic story arising. Leo is sextile to your sign so what Venus is doing could be to test the waters again and to bless certain connections if they pass the test. But also check how you relate to any group you belong to, or how you relate on social media as it falls across your 11th house.
Venus is in Aries from February 21st to March 17th, so during this time it opposes your sign and might not make friendships and getting on with others so easy. They might seem very self centred to you or either they or you yourself come across as awkward socially. But Venus enters Libra on November 9th so that’s when you’ll feel her power the most as she crosses your Sun and any other planet you have in Libra. She’s very much at home here so this is the best time for social engagements and communications with women in your life. She stays there until 5th December so it is still really party season then and does not diminish the fun.
When Pluto moves into Aquarius, it can have an extraordinary revitalisation of all your sense of fun and ability to enjoy creative play, which can’t be bad. Could be a restoration of your inner child. You may have left lots of projects unfinished and over the next few years, all will have to be reviewed, as Pluto stays in this area for decades to come.
With Saturn moving into Pisces it may bring about a constructive, realistic spirit to all your daily routines, to make them more actionable in the world where perhaps they had remained something you just thought about doing but never did. This could be a much-needed tonic to your health as by considering all output and input in a systematic way, you can achieve personal healing and detoxing that spruces up your physical vehicle. This might involve some new physical disciplines that have a spiritual flavour.
Jupiter moves into Taurus and that perhaps brings a more elevated hopeful tone to any wranglings you have over money with partners and family. Make good use of that while Jupiter is there and look for the opportunities that come your way. The North and South nodes are on the move and this may affect you as the South Node is entering your sign so it will cross over all your natal planets in Libra. The North Node is therefore moving across your partnership house and opposing all those same planets. This challenges you to take some action about relationships or any business partnerships, perhaps going into new territory.
Mercury enters Libra on October 5th bringing a sharper thoughts and clearer thinking processes so that will be good for dealing with any contracts and negotiations. Remember that we kicked off the year with Venus conjunct Pluto and that lends power to her as she is ruler of Libra, more in the sense of justice needing to be done than making life more pleasant. There is an eclipse in Libra on October 14th accompanying this new Moon, so that could affect you in a challenging way. Perhaps not something you notice straight away is shifting in or out of your life. Pluto goes direct on October 12th while the Sun is in you sign, so the seismic feeling there will be felt strongly by you. This is straight after the new Moon in and so lends greater power to a sense that issues are being unearthed that previously lay hidden in order for you to deal with them fairly and squarely.
SCORPIO

For Scorpio Sun, Moon or Rising signs, it should be a reasonably good year since they are always prepared for change and your sign represents that ability to do all the internal work of transformation. So you are already steeled against the changes more than most and understand the alchemical process needed that are tough to go through, but like a snake shedding its skin, renewed from letting go. The traditional ruler of Scorpio is Mars so take note of the position of Mars this year as it traverses signs from Gemini to when it enters Scorpio on October 12th. It is mostly in direct motion from January 12th, so that’s better for all of us, you’ll have direct access to your physical energy.
But also be aware that your modern ruler, Pluto, is on the move this year too, so this will affect you directly even though it moves into Aquarius for a few months – a kind of preview- and then back into Capricorn to return for a full stay in 2024. You would have felt Mars in Gemini backtracking from October 2022 to January 2023 quite deeply and you have felt this as transformational in some way. It may have included some surgery perhaps or an accident that forced you into actions that enhances your life in ways that set you right for the years ahead. There may have been arguments about inheritances and shared resources with family and that’s all been intense conflicted and with some arguing but possibly deepening bonds as a shared crisis increases understanding on deep levels.
Pluto goes back into Capricorn in July but goes direct again on October 15th around the time of the eclipse and that might feel like shifting things forward. This might be in relation to where you feel most secure, where is your home and how you relate to your ancestors. But at least the Nodes are moving this year out of your sign and into the signs of Libra-Aries, so that could be a kind of relief and all the impact on your money and savings, all the reevaluation you had to do there over the last two years while the nodes were in your sign, may feel finally that you have landed in a more secure place. You have been forced to reassess all your resources, shared or otherwise, and you feel you are in a better situation now to consider how your relationships matter to you.
The new phase of the nodes by July will challenge you to face up to little details of your daily routine to make that your sacred path, as it is often the mode by which all the greater things in life can be achieved, so attention to cleansing, purgation, healing modalities, massage and other touch and holistic therapies will be important. Perhaps do more research in this are to pioneer new methods, and sit back and rely much less on your previous habits to carry you through as they did before. Something new has to emerge here.
When Saturn moves into Pisces in March, it could trigger a renewed interest in your creative pursuits. It brings a constructive feel to this side of life, a weeding out of what’s not necessary and a strong focus on what can be made manifest in the world, a greater mastery of the skills needed to play that instrument, or paint that picture, write that story. While your sense of playfulness might take on a serious tone, it still does not prevent you from creating something perhaps with a more spiritual theme. Saturn goes direct from zero of Pisces while the Sun is in your sign which augurs well for movement ahead and having more fun. That’s on November 4th.
With Jupiter moving into Taurus this can bring about a huge sense of the benevolence of lovers who can provide you with the blessings any relationship thrives upon. But that could also lead to overspending, gambling and over-reliance on those resources too, so best keep it sweet and simple, and it most likely will feel like just good luck.
Watch out for when the Sun is opposite Jupiter on November 3rd as this could bring a direct challenge to this reliance of good continually pouring into your life. Don’t overestimate what can be achieved as Mars and Mercury are in the mix there in the middle degrees of Scorpio. What expands can lead to a bubble that bursts, so keep a check on unbridled growth. Be analytical, but not overly critical, and sarcastic. But it may bring an illumination of some kind too, a broadening out of your world view to accommodate the bigger picture.
Then there is a new Moon in Scorpio on November 13th so enjoy that time for making all the new intentions for the following year of 2024. It packs a punch too because the new Moon is conjunct Mars and opposite Uranus, so some fiery energy is there to ignite your dreams and plans and make them more innovative. There will at least be no eclipse in your sign in November as the last one- a lunar eclipse-is on May 5th at 14° , so whatever you had to finish in terms of karmic patterning is probably done by then, as that’s the last in Scorpio for a while.
SAGITTARIUS

For Sagittarius Sun, Moon or Rising signs, the year begins with much accumulated hindsight and wisdom because you have been clear of the big ones: Pluto left Sag in 2009 so you were ready for the mind-melt era of Neptune in Pisces; and Saturn left Sagittarius in 2018, so you have done a lot of the preparatory work for this era of change. The focus has moved on and you have alchemised all the lessons. Pluto and Saturn have already moved two or more signs ahead of yours. This makes you are one of the most resourceful signs of all, and most Sagittarians have a strong ‘bounce back’ factor relying on rock solid intuition and an understanding of how life works even in chaotic times. You have learned a lot of hard lessons from the years of challenges so make sure make good use of that innate philosophy in 2023.
Mars retrograde in Gemini directly opposed your sign for the last half of 2022. This created a number of oppositions to your natal planets in Sagittarius. This has thrown light on your relationships as Gemini would rule the 7th house and you have been sorting out some deeper karmic deadlock here, working out the knots of some past life experience, hopefully to experience a breakthrough of some sort in how you want relationships to be. But this too has been challenging as Mars opposing your Sun will have affected you directly dampening the light of your life purpose, and causing increased fatigue or skin irritations and sluggishness; and even though Jupiter was in Aries from December 20th, trining your sign, you may have experienced delays and setbacks in travelling requiring last minute changes of plan or just feeling a reluctance to move ahead, and the need to exercise caution quite out of character with your natural spontaneous instincts. Enjoy it while Jupiter still is in Aries until May.
Venus retrograde in Leo in August may have an impact on you as Leo is a fellow fire sign so whatever happens in the house of the Sun affects you too, especially if your Sag sun is in the fifth house. Some playing out of an old love drama will be revisited in August. But, generally speaking, activity in your sign was mostly in December 2022, and may have to wait till the very end of 2023 for the focus to be on you again in the same way.
Not that you can take a rest as there are movements of big planets Saturn and Pluto affecting the collective. The impact of Saturn in Pisces will be interesting as it moves into your house of communication, and can bring constructive new methods of dialogue, or of learning techniques to improve the way you speak, especially to siblings. That could become more creative. The influence of Pluto moving into Aquarius may also be beneficial as Aquarius is sextile to your sign and does not necessarily bring anything jarring into the mix. It may even enlighten your ideas and smooth things along.
Jupiter as your ruler is always to one to watch. It moves into Taurus in May so that brings on an expansion of light into your daily routines, how perhaps because of faith in a new set of ideas you have, can be transformed to work in a more prosperous way for you if you hone the routine and do all the diligent research on improving health and physical and psychic cleansing.
Mercury moves fast throughout the year. It whizzes through Sagittarius and is already into Capricorn by early December. However, it will retrograde on December 14th while in the early degrees of Capricorn, going back into Sagittarius. It crosses all the degrees it traversed before going into Capricorn- that could be across your Sun and Mercury most likely so watch for where Mercury revisits these planets and what the messages are seep through. Is there anything you have to redo, research or revise relating to hopes and plans? This would be the time to add more details to those plan in case you overlooked anything in your haste to move on.
There is a full moon in Sagittarius on June 4th- the sun will be in Gemini- so mark this date as probably the culmination of something in your relationships, perhaps some new agreement comes to fruition at this time, possibly to do with travel plans or higher education. The New Moon in your sign comes on December 12th. That’s the time to set your intentions for 2024 as it could occur around the time of your solar return. Check any planets that are aligned to this moon for a more detailed picture of what’s to come. Venus enters Sagittarius on the 29th of December just in time for the new year so that could be nice for any celebrations and parties you have planned in an adventurous location.
The new phase of the lunar nodes will ask you to look at the communications areas of your life from basic talking to your family and how you construct your world view based on which philosophies you buy into. It might be time to rethink those deeper held beliefs to see if they have past their sell-by-date and that’s the challenge for you as you may already think you have learned a lot but there might be more to learn.
CAPRICORN

For Capricorn Sun, Moon or Rising, you have had the toughest time these past few years and perhaps that is all culminating now as Pluto is grinding over the last and most challenging degrees of your sign, forcing out all the toxic investments and and arrangements, anything that lacked integrity, and bringing to light any issues that no longer work and have to be abandoned. You many have experienced financial losses and blows to your organisational capacity and your sense of security in the world, but this acts as a psychological transformation of immense power to change the way you look at the world. Pluto moves in and out of Aquarius in 2023, but then leaves Capricorn finally in 2024. Then the yoke on your shoulders may feel somewhat lifted and the alchemical process it has wrought to your deepest self may reach its final equilibrium and the outcomes will finally be achievable. But most of the activity in your sign will still be operative until November of 2024 as Pluto traverses that 29° point several times over.
The Sun is conjunct Saturn, your ruler, on Feb 16th and this could seem like a dark day, but it is sobering you up to face more realities. Not that you avoid them but the tasks may just keep mounting up and feel oppressive. Just don’t let it hold you back completely, let it be temporary only, and take assessment of things on this day in readiness for moving forward again on more secure footing. Saturn wants you to learn the lessons and that’s good in the long run.
Saturn is on the move into Pisces March 7th so this could be a lot lighter for you offering a softer Saturn, a more Neptunian version of the hard task master. The impact of Saturn in Pisces will be interesting as it moves into your house of communication, and can bring constructive new methods of dialogue, or a softening of your style in commerce, or you may learn techniques to improve the way you speak, especially to siblings. It may be the art of saying less thus making words have more impact. That could become more creative as you learn new things to master. Saturn however goes retrograde June 18th. He only goes as far forward as 7° of Pisces going back to 0°, so check if they have any significance for you in your natal chart. Do you have planets in Pisces that your ruler Saturn wants you to pay attention to? Is there a story to tell there? He goes direct again on 5th Sept going back over those same degrees again.
Pluto is moving into Aquarius – a relief for you to have another sign bear the burden of Pluto doing all its excavations- but it only lasts a few months as in some ways you are not out of hot water as Pluto in Aquarius can still be explosive for you, as it is part ruled by Saturn along with Uranus. It now covers the area of self worth so you still need to look to your personal resources and now have a full audit of all that you truly value. This is not necessarily worldly goods and material objects but your inner self worth, how you value what makes life worth living.
On a positive note, Jupiter is on the move into Taurus in May. This is a fellow earth sign to yours and is practical and realistic and Jupiter here can be fortunate, showing you opportunities where perhaps you did not spot them before. It emphasises this re-burst of your authentic self worth and this moves into your 5th house area so you may feel the need to remember how doing simple hobbies, painting, crafts, music, poetry can enliven your right brain and restore balance to your mind that has focussed so much on revelling in the workload. It is not easy to be in ‘play’ mode for Capricorns, but it may be a saving grace to allow this to happen more frequently and fritter away hours apparently doing nothing.
The lunar nodes are also shifting this year from Taurus-Scorpio into Aries-Libra in July. This may focus your energy and attention on your self, who you are, your ancestors and how to connect more to them, and everything that contributes to your feeling of security in the world. The default mode here is always more work, taking on more responsibilities, but ask your self, of what value is that if your home life does not make you happy? You cannot live in the workplace, so figure out where do you want to live in the world and feel happy. Home is not always a physical concept either but where you feel most truly yourself without society’s masks having to be worn.
AQUARIUS

For Aquarius Sun, Moon or Rising signs, 2023 is another year of concentrated focus on all the progressive ideas and humanitarian concerns that Aquarians love to discuss. Unfortunately, that brings new ideologies both Utopian and Dystopian and history shows how belief in those systems’ have turned out. This whole period of the ‘new’ was heralded by a conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in December 2020 at the zero-degree point of Aquarius. I managed to see this, both with my own eyes and through a telescope, and it was incredible as I could see the moons of Jupiter and the rings of Saturn. It is as if Aquarius is centre stage now with all the talk of the ‘Age of Aquarius’ and that technology rules our world is made very evident.
While Saturn was in your sign over the past two years, we saw the increase in the top-down imposition of ideas over the ‘public.’ The masses were subject to excessive rules and regulations. The rule of the collective is that it overrides the rights of the individual and here’s the paradox for Aquarians – they come across as arch individualists, but they are most likely to argue persuasively for the common good, or for unregulated use of technology, which inevitably robs genuine individuals of their rights. Thus, we end up with dystopian distorted vision and even more mass surveillance, and not what it is not what people set out to achieve- it is often the antithesis of freedom and no true Uranian wants to be locked in a box. Read George Orwell’s 1984 again for the manual on this.
The focus shifts somewhat this year too as Saturn moves out of your sign March 8th. Can you breathe a sigh of relief yet? Well not really as Pluto only dips its toe in on March 28th and once it moves into Aquarius again finally in 2024, Pluto will remain there for until 2043. So gear up for some transformations that sink back down to the roots of who you are and may have you re-evaluating everything, leaving no stone unturned in that radical rethink over the next few decades. You’ll be a changed person by the end of it, perhaps not living in the same place at all or believing what you used to believe. It could even affect the way you present yourself to the world, your dress sense and appearance, as it connects to your first house. This will affect the collective mostly, but Pluto in your sign will challenge you to deal with the deeper darker archetypes that often remain hidden, but during this long phase will come to light for alchemical treatment. Do check which house that Pluto is in your natal chart for a clearer picture of which area of life this will manifest most.
Saturn moves into your 2nd house area in March so can bring about a re-evaluation of your self esteem and personal values. It is best to keep things simple here and not to overcomplicate this process. It may be needed and bring with it some level of creativity where you try out new action plans. With Saturn in the sign of Pisces, it can soften the effect of Saturn, so he is less like the stern master, but at the same time, it can harden up some of the disciplines needed if you are pursuing a regime or discipline. I think achieving a balance of these two opposing forces, and resolving this tension, could be successful if you are willing to be patient and diligent in working out how to do that.
Uranus goes direct on January 22nd at 14° so this is forward motion for your ruling planet and it brings its own electrical charge in terms of new downloads and advanced ideas which you love to propose and implement. Take advantage of capturing as many bright flashy ideas and plans as you can from late January onwards as it goes retrograde again on August 29th. It only moves forward again on January 27th 2024. So the flow of ideas could be more restrained during this time which is not a bad thing as anything new-fangled should be subject to critique and criteria before it is unleashed on the world.
With Jupiter moving into Taurus in May, it could shine a light on your home life and what makes you feel secure in the world, but also expand your interest in your family histories or any recorded memories of your grandparents. This could be beneficial especially if you have been neglecting your home life. If not, and you already have that sorted, it may be a wonderful validation of all the work you have already done to establish who you really are and to resist any false sense of inauthentic identity through any kind of social engineering.
The lunar nodes are on the move from Taurus-Scorpio to Aries-Libra and this could affect you in the mode of communication where you may be challenged to become more forceful in your communications and this is where it is most explicit – not the big picture stuff which you find easier to handle, but who speaks to who about what and when in your immediate family.
PISCES

For Pisces Sun, Moon or Rising signs, Pisces has had Neptune wearing away at the concreteness of the world since 2012 and had one of the most illuminating conjunctions of the era in your sign in 2022. That had two phases; the second lingering on at the end of 2022, so you of all signs are familiar with the mega mind-melt and existing in multiple dimensions at the same time. The Jupiter-Neptune conjunction triggered experiences of altered states, and a basic questioning of reality. 2022 was as if the collective was living through a bad acid trip, with all their traumas coming to the surface. It may have been challenging to hold any kind of mental balance. But the arrival of Saturn in your sign this year will bring about a much needed ‘back-to-reality’ phase. Saturn in your sign from March 8th could help you to focus and ground, and to cut away all the froth and irrelevancies, anything that is not needed, especially in your spiritual practices whatever they may be. It brings discipline and hard work instead of laziness and procrastination.
On February 16th the Sun conjuncts Saturn and this could bring about a set back or a holding back of your light. There may be a delay with understanding of your self purpose or even some self doubt. An authority figure could stand in the way of new ideas and cause some kind of restriction. Then the sun moves into Pisces on February 19th. This shifts the focus to your sign from February to March as it does every year- that strange time just before the spring. The Sun here allows you to indulge your dreams and fantasies and your search in higher realms of knowledge could increase. It’s a time for intuiting ideas and showing compassion for others. Just be careful to distinguish truth from falsehood and of giving away too much of yourself and then feeling like a victim for doing so. So this could be the high point of the year for you before the big bang of March gets going.
Once the Sun is in your sign, it is quickly followed by a new Moon in Pisces on the 20th where the Sun is at 1°. This is the right time for your own personal intentions to be formulated and uttered aloud. This coincides with Venus entering Aries too, so it could be a feisty, funky sort of new Moon. Make the most of that. So this period is fertile for Pisces as once Saturn moves in on March 8th, you may feel a pin-prick of ideas that previously had you floating in the stratosphere just burst into nothing. But they will restructure to a more solid baseline. There will be a kind of an audit of your spiritual beliefs and that could be painful with all the resorting and reorganising that is needed, but it could be better in the long run as Saturn is all about getting results. If you work hard Saturn repays you with solid achievements. So whatever it is you are working on could be pared down and become more functional, more efficient; or practices you only dallied with before, become more of a regular routine in your life; thus slowly the benefits show up more by the end of the year. If you have any artistic project you’d like to work on, then Saturn here could give new form to the imagination and help you make it practical and more accessible to others.
Pluto dipping into Aquarius will affect you perhaps by disturbing your sleep patterns. And, in one sense since Jupiter is the traditional ruler of your sign, it’s position is important for you. It is in Aries until May, so it could be giving a booster to the warrior energy for the first few months of the year and a booster to your finances and self worth. You can coast along quite a bit with that. But then it shifts into the area that could expand the whole way you think about communicating bring in a much broader spectrum of ideas and some reflection on the way you speak may be needed.
The North and South nodes move into Aries-Libra in July and this axis falls across your 2nd and 9th house axis. The challenge is to reevaluate your self worth and not back down from that relying on old sets of beliefs but taking a fresh look at what gives you self esteem. In two years, this nodal axis will shift once more into your sign of Pisces and the opposite sign of Virgo and that brings up a whole new set of requirements for how to move forward. Better deal with that when it comes and focus on all that you are immediately presented with during 2023.There will be enough to do.
4: The View Ahead: 2023
The main thing in 2023 is that it’s a powerhouse of a year. Prepare as much as possible for all the twists, turns and innovations to come, but don’t beat yourself up if there are any setbacks and revisions of plans. This is a year to review your life purpose, make serious plans Capricorn style, and to cut away all that’s unnecessary- use Occam’s razor– to pare everything down to what’s important for you, and only do what matters based on that. To take on more than you can chew would not be good. There is not one drop of energy left to spend on anything else than what matters and little time left as the world is in major shifting mode and your choices this year are crucial to your survival. Another factor to activate your plans is that during the that period of forward moving planets, that’s the time to get things done that require initiative, start ups, moving house, reorganising your life, releasing yourself from old commitments etc. Take advantage of all the planets moving forward from January 22nd to April 21st when Mercury is the first to go retrograde. Then all the other planets follow.

It is also good to focus more just on what is around you and who is in your immediate circle, and not what ‘stuff’ is on the media that wants to invade your circle. Keep all that sealed out. It’s a soup full of chaos that you don’t want to flood into your mind. All these challenges have strengthened us by showing us our weaknesses, but one of the priorities would be clearing psychic channels, chakras and doing your energy work, whatever that is for you, even if it is just walking the dog and getting a breath of air. That will allow all that is suited to your path this year to magnetise more easily towards you. The body is the fine instrument and vehicle so it has to be toxin free, exercised, and watered with clean water as far as possible for all the potentials to manifest and for it to play the music.
Jung said in Mysterium Coniunctionis “When there is a light in the darkness which comprehends the darkness, the darkness no longer prevails.” Hold on to the light too and let it absorb some of the obstacles, and it won’t ever be as dark as it seems before it happens. So let’s get on with 2023 with both a sense of where caution is necessary but also some hope and optimism.
Hope you have a great year.
