1: More Planets on the Move

As if we haven’t had enough ‘change’ already,  another planet, Uranus, is about to move into a new sign – that of Gemini.

Pluto shifted into Aquarius from Capricorn (Nov 19th, 2024); then this year 2025 Neptune moved into Aries from Pisces (March 30th); Saturn moved into Aries from Pisces (May 25th); Jupiter shifted from Gemini into Cancer (June 8th) and now Uranus is about to move into Gemini on July 7th. Once it settles in, it is there until 2032. From mid-July all these planets will be in new signs.

All these shifts are not lightweight. They may rattle us in our internal dynamics and perception, beliefs, attitudes and we can shift our interpretation of news on a dime. World affairs are ramped up to fever pitch in a highly charged up vortex that has been stirred up by the powers that should not be. While there is much to be celebrated to maintain personal freedoms, the cosmic domino effect is triggering fears about further controls and disturbances.

There is still some dipping back into previous signs: Neptune dips back into Pisces October 23rd, 2025, and Saturn dips back into Pisces September 2nd. So that business is not yet finished. There’s lots more to unravel. Those issues have a coda- a final refrain. But by February 20th of 2026 the famous ‘five’ adventure is almost complete.

Uranus goes retrograde on September 7th , dips back into Taurus on November 9th to finish up the business there. Finally, it returns to Gemini on the 26th April, 2026.

So what we get in the next few months is the strobe-light trailer for the show to come full on next year. Pluto, Neptune, Uranus, Saturn and Jupiter will all be firmly and fully in their new signs in 2026. Fire and Water signs predominate so this ups the ante for intuitive insights but also for acting on impulse so be careful what you wish for as thoughts manifest faster than ever.

Gemini is mutable, quick witted, versatile, clever and can have multiple guises. Uranus is brilliant, sudden, a game-changer, but can wreak havoc. If Gemini is a box, it is a Jack-in-the- Box full of tricks and Uranus is already functioning happily outside the box.

Uranus is also the higher octave of Mercury which rules Gemini so we’ll get an injection of communications, commerce, and a boost in local transport systems during this next phase of Uranus’s journey through the signs. Gemini is a mutable sign with Mercury as its facilitator and mediator. Its symbol is the twins so expect some mirroring of statements, and maybe even more ‘double’ speak in the news and the appearance of doppelgangers.

Uranus however does not mince words- he is the revolutionary speaker and truth teller. The planet in the sign can work together to assist not only the speed but the efficiency of cognitive brain functions with the mental exhaustion that comes with that as we try to consume ever greater amounts of information.

This could bring in both a streak of originality and rebellion as Uranus retains a ‘punk’ sensibility. Uranus’ time in Scorpio coincided with the Punk movement of 1977 and Uranus is exalted in the sign of Scorpio so technically it has been in its ‘fall’ while in Taurus for the past 7 years. Experimentation with electric guitar chords and DIY Xeroxed fan-zines became the means by which people changed their world and flooded it with inventive ideas. But once in Gemini some explosive words may burst through.

Aeschylus tells of the dialogue between Hermes (Mercury) and Prometheus (Uranus). Hermes comes to persuade Prometheus to bow to Jupiter’s wishes. While both are thieves with solid intellect, connected to intuition which is symbolised by fire, is the messaging system of the higher mind, they have very striking differences. Prometheus is stealing fire for the benefit of humanity while Hermes is doing the bidding of Zeus for his own benefit and keeping the status quo. Hermes is amoral while Prometheus is altruistic. But if they work together they can beat all the odds as being fast learners and the ability to make complex information accessible will be the most valued skill of the future. But it also may involve sticking to your guns. Let’s hope for we get that combination.

The last time Uranus was in Gemini (1941-48) the US entered the Second World War, computer technology was developed and the ‘enigma’ code solved, and George Orwell published Animal Farm (1945) and his other more chilling dystopian novel 1984 (1949) when Uranus was at the very final 29° of Gemini.

The previous time when Uranus was in Gemini (1858-1865) there was the American Civil War and in 1863 Abraham Lincoln uttered Gettysburg Address, an historic speech in which he said “government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth”. This expresses a totally Uranian theme, that of revolutionary people power.

Thomas PaineUranus in Gemini has been associated with times when ideas flourished and were disseminated quickly. Thomas Paine’s ‘Common Sense’ was published in 1776. Its plain speaking style radically changed the way people think about how to establish ‘equal’ rights. This pamphlet spurred on the American colonies to their eventual Independence  (a very Uranian word) against Britain.

Uranus was in Gemini from 1774-1781 and Pluto was in Aquarius from 1779 so there was a short overlap from 1779-1781. Uranus was actually discovered in March 1781 when it was still in Gemini so it has a ‘birthdate’ affinity to that sign. Uranus will not return to Gemini again until June, 2109.

The Uranus ingress into Gemini chart is at 8.46 am London. This places Uranus in the 10th house of reputation-we may hear news of more technological advances from the big tech companies. Mercury which rules Gemini is in Leo in the 12th so sending coded messages from the unconscious mind. The Moon is also in a fire sign Sagittarius so intuition and feelings run high. Mars is ruled by Mercury on the Ascendant and ruled by Mercury. Venus too is ruled by Mercury. Urania the muse of Astrology is in Aquarius again emphasising the technological innovations side of astrology. Being able to tap into that stream of genius that Uranus brings could provide an extra power supply, so have your notebook at the ready. You catch an idea by its tail before someone else catches it.

Neural networks and the interconnectivity of mind-body-spirit may be vastly enhanced or given more scientific validation during this time. Gemini is the lungs, hands and ‘digits’ all used to express and communicate more. So perhaps a bit of Yoga or Tai Chi might help to reunite these apparently disparate forces. Uranus is all abut ‘electricity’ and linked to ‘prana’ or  ‘chi’ energy.  Yogananda Paramahamsa believed that the spine is the subtle channel of all the ‘electricity’ in the body. He instructed  that “The universe is a cosmic motion picture of dancing atoms, which in turn are energy-sparks—not matter at all but vibratory waves”.  Germs could be, by analogy, ‘electrocuted’ increasing health levels. The body is ruled by bio-energetic fields which show up in electrical impulses.

The breath is the connecting factor in this dance. It makes us more aware of our body as it links psyche to soma. It is well known among yogis that the mind can be slowed down via breathing techniques and the body fully re-energised as needed. Mind mastery is going to be even more of a challenge while Uranus is in Gemini as it explodes that power of the mind exponentially.

Also, we cannot fail to mention the role of Kundalini in the Uranus opposition which often triggers a kind of sexual/creative awakening known as the ‘mid life’ crisis. This tends to  happen between the ages of 42-25. So if this transit -your Uranus opposition-occurs for you during this next seven years, it can have a neurological, technological flavour and life changes will happen at laser-light speed.

All this is added to the fact that Uranus is in this ‘divine’ guidance aspect- the grand mini-trine where it sextiles Saturn/Neptune and trines Pluto. This gives it an uplift it would not usually have.

Uranus will go back into Taurus for a while from November 2025 to come back to the zero point of Gemini again in April 2026. Then he is there for about seven years. Uranus traverses roughly 4 degrees a year until it leaves Gemini to dip into Cancer in 2032.

Without getting totally sidetracked it is interesting that the first ingress of Uranus into Gemini conjuncts the dwarf planet Sedna. I have mentioned Sedna before. This is not just a passing transit either. They stay together at the early degrees of Gemini well into 2027. What that actually means for anyone remains to be seen, but it fuses Uranus with her symbolism. So, we might expect some undersea volcanic eruptions or discoveries related to the sea or innovative communications via the sea, though this will increase more than ever when Sedna finally moves into Cancer in 2066.

3: Digital Twins and AI Influencers

The fact that Uranus, which is all about scientific progress and innovations is in Gemini which is all about communications, information, learning and commercial interactions at the same time suggests we on the brink of being enveloped by a web of technological communications. This  has already triggered massive job losses by Microsoft and Amazon. All this challenges us to reassert what it means to be human and remain in suitable employment. AI which can sometimes be over-hyped as having ‘god-like’ properties still manages to push at the boundaries of how we define ‘intelligence’ – does it include the emotional and human qualities, or even consciousness, or is it all just non-sentient reductive machine repetition?

space odyssey

It would not surprise me to find that during this phase of Uranus in Gemini AI is pushed by bureaucrats who love governance over genuine education in schools and anything involving data analytics will be promoted as it becomes the job of the future. Also, people might want to experiment more with AI alter egos, avatars, VIs (Virtual Influencers) and Digital Twins as that would be a very Gemini thing to do. However it manifests, it will zip-load into to our wish baskets faster than ever.

The age of AI is here to stay heralded by this transit along with Pluto in Aquarius. However, overuse of AI can certainly atrophy not only critical thinking but the range of vocabulary.  Millennials and Gen Z Students rely more heavily on technology to do their writing and hence to do their ‘thinking’ for them. There is the rising prevalence of what is called ‘Tik-Tok’ brain and ever shorter attention spans among Gen Z. Sometimes language students using Google Translate do not even know the English word for the translated word in the other language. One thing I lament is that AI cannot handle the nuances of language, those of wit, humour or any of the devices of poetry, metaphor, allusion, metonymy, innuendo and satire. So these skills could atrophy too. But we should add- ‘not yet.’

AI is a wraparound phenomenon- it is encroaching upon us from every angle and no longer by stealth. Already it is humans who are obliged online to prove to the robots that they are ‘human’-not the other way around.  HAL the computer in 2001 a Space Odyssey (1968) was claimed to be ‘the most reliable computer ever made’ yet it turned on its human astronaut users and said “This mission is too important for me to allow you to jeopardise it”. This film was released 2nd April 1968 when Pluto was conjunct Uranus in Virgo (ruled by Mercury) opposite Mercury conjunct Venus in Pisces emphasising all the Uranus in Gemini themes.

This could be a warning to at least slow down the rapid proliferation of AI algorithms which monopolise the human functions of the brain. This could also constrain genuine creativity while loudly claiming to enhance it. When technology interacts with human physiology it is hard to say where the dividing line is. According to Yuval Harari in the coming reality humans are redundant and just ‘hackable animals’ without soul or spirit for the technocrats to manipulate as they wish. Does Uranus in Gemini mean this trend has been given the green light?

Gemini thankfully is about choices- it is after all the spirit of the crossroads and of cemeteries- so we still have those decisions to make in this great dilemma to go for our own agency and not follow the herd.  We are only ‘hackable’ if we allow that to happen. Fortunately, Uranus is sextile to Saturn and Neptune in Aries in this wonderful grand mini-trine, so it is bolstering our sense of sovereignty and even achieving that tricky balancing act among all the opposing forces.

Uranus is wholly impersonal however and cares little for your feelings, so it will do its lightning flash to illuminate truths even if that is harsh or abrupt. Mercury on the other hand improves expression, loves to chit-chat and share information, to mediate, yet words are notoriously as slippery as soap. So, the war is on for ownership of the human mind here via perception management which rests on the concepts embodied in words spawned by the media.

Gemini is associated with the media which is double-edged. On the one hand it disseminates vital information quickly, but on the other hand, spreads lies and propaganda just as fast. That  undermines our sense of true meaning. Ideas are often corralled towards a consensus type of groupthink. The challenge therefore  is ever harder to be an authentic thinker. This holds the tension between Uranus, who thinks outside the box, and Mercury, who works at the more materialistic level. Topics are never permitted outside the Overton window  yet people rarely realise how narrow is the frame provided by the chatterboxes and chatter bots.

But along comes Uranus to shatter the edges of that frame. Even AI can be tricked through clever prompting and dialoguing into giving away how humans can gain an upper hand. Be aware, but not hyperaware as that too can trigger a hypervigilant mindset.

We have got seven years of this bolstered by the influence of Pluto in Aquarius.  Uranus and Pluto are in a fluid trine relationship. This means they are working in mutual support each other with transformations and innovations – and probably a few revolutions too-which may improve and speed up all types of communication.

Neptune goes retrograde on the 4th July just before the Uranus ingress. This happens on the same day as a Venus-Uranus conjunction at 29° of Taurus could bring in money or some business transactions from online sources, e-commerce sites, but it being Uranus could equally take them away in a flash. This is also the aspect of the hit-and-run lover.

Then Uranus goes into Gemini. That is followed by Saturn which goes retrograde on the 14th July. The Saturn/Neptune conjunction is still close and they will back track together. They return to the the early degrees of Aries and even the last degree of Pisces reactivating all the old issues, all the stuff that needs resolving. We are not done yet but will eventually have closure.

Mercury which is in Leo goes retrograde on the 19th July. It moves from 15° of Leo back to 4° of Leo on the 28th July eventually stationing direct again from August 10th-12th .This could bring back an old friend into your life, or you may decide to visit a country you’ve already been to but it’s always time to take things at an easier pace during the summer holidays as long as plans are flexible.

4: Beau Brummel: Dedicated ‘Leader’ of Fashion

Digging in to history for exemplars of those born with Uranus in Gemini is too broad to be of much use. There are way too many. It is also retrospective since Uranus is a recent addition to the zodiac pantheon- discovered in 1781 by William Herschel. Pluto was only discovered in 1930. However, natives who were born with both Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius at the same time are rare and helps to narrow it down. This gives a preview of the current era in 2025 and babies born after July 7th and for the next few years would also have both these placements.

Beau Brummel
Beau Brummel (7/6/1778) London, 2.30am

This double placement occurred during the late 1770s. One such native was Beau Brummel (7/6/1778) who cannot be said to have followed anyone. His family had no particular social standing and despite the fact that he was born to a courtesan in Downing Street, he rose from nowhere, he had his own ideas and leveraged his own agency. He was a sovereign being and set the tone for a new kind of cult personality in the Romantic era. But it lead him into some toxic grandiosity and overspending. The bailiffs were often at the door. He was also in that perilous situation where his fate hung in the balance by being both the personal friend the Prince Regent of the time-and then his enemy.

He was described often as a ‘dandy’ but it is more accurate to say he was an ‘anti-dandy’ as his style was minimal.  He was anti anything flamboyant. Style and fashion are not the same. His dress code was closely linked to his character yet it began to be followed like a fashion. He was always his own man even to the point of getting on everyone else’s nerves. He was a handsome man about town, fastidious, disciplined, dressed in a very understated manner and all this became influential. He redefined what it was to be a ‘gentleman’ through a kind of studied minimalism. He proposed a neat and sober pattern-cut of tailored suits for men and full length trousers and that gradually became the preference for the next 200 years.

The stellium of the Sun, Mars, Uranus and Mercury all in Gemini would have given him that automatic spark of brilliance and intensity.  He probably could have turned his hand to music, performance, science, teaching, writing or anything else he wanted. Neptune in Virgo shows the attention to fashion detail, the obsession with hygiene and how he became famous and the key figure of the Dandy club.  Neptune squares the nodes in Cancer/Capricorn and the sad reality for his was that in later life when exiled in Caen, France, he eventually suffered  from mental derangement said to be brought on by syphilis.

brummel
miniature of Beau Brummel

His self-discipline comes from that Saturn/Moon in Scorpio and also the reserve-which became the style for men. The moon is in a difficult position here. But he spent hours on his own grooming, openly performing his ablutions, combing and shaving, keeping his whites white which was difficult a grimy London of that era which had an exploding population. All this to prepare for his public appearances and that Jupiter in Leo would guarantee that he was widely seen and talked about. Even Coco Chanel took inspiration for her smart suit from Brummel’s ideas on tailoring.  He managed to erase his humble beginnings to rise the top echelons of society, yet fell from grace ending up first in Calais then Caen to escape his debts in England. This fate as an exile had a strange echo a hundred years later with Oscar Wilde who ended up in Dieppe.

It is also remarkable that at this Uranus ingress, July 7th, the position of Chiron has come around to the exact same point-26° of Aries- to a few minutes- that it was in Brummel’s natal chart. His Chiron is opposite asteroid Psyche in Libra so showing an immense sensitivity and it is square to Pluto in Aquarius so he was ruined by his own greatness, the punishment for a self-made man.

There’s nothing obviously scientific progressive or ‘digital’ about Brummel- except for the fact that he pre-dates all the modern psychological types. His distinctly progressive attitude could be said to be ‘metrosexual’ but that is just a journalist’s label. But he was way ahead of his time and it is significant that he maintained a very ‘self contained’ attitude – in his own bubble yes, but that attitude is what may save us today from all the gaslighting, and from the covert and overt influence of bio-metric surveillance.

It is also a fact that AI has already created a massive booster to the fashion industry involved at every level of the process from supply chains to design production. AI influencers are exactly that- sophisticated robots who know us better than we know ourselves as well as advise us what to wear. They may very well replace the old roles of fashion stylist and forecaster. Brummel’s assistant was human, but if AI had existed then he probably would have used it.

5: Uranus in Gemini for all Signs

flashWhen reading these general forecast please bear in mind they are very broad scope and based on the Uranus in Gemini Ingress chart and Uranus is there for seven years which is a cycle long enough for us to forget what it is doing. Many other planetary aspects happen during that time. Please read both for your Rising sign and for your Sun sign.

Uranus – or Prometheus- who brings the ‘breath’ of fire- could already be playing a significant role in the awakening process depending which sign it is in. It behooves readers to verify the actual position of Gemini in your chart and which house that falls in for a much more nuanced forecast. The statements here are based on the sun/rising sign on the first house and the angles and relationships that form because of that.

Uranus itself does not travel as fast as Mercury but it will aspect any planets you have in Gemini so watch for those events and make a note in your diary. Every year it will conjunct the Sun and Mercury in May/June. Uranus arrives at the midpoint of 15° of Gemini in June of 2029.

Uranus may have already formed an aspect to a planet in Gemini. In this case you’ll be ready-made for this transit. For Sagittarius when Uranus arrives in Gemini, it will oppose the Sun and any other planets in Sagittarius as that is the sign opposite yours. For Virgo and Pisces Uranus in Gemini falls in a square relationship so may produce tensions over the next few years.

But everyone has Gemini and Uranus somewhere in their charts. Hopefully these brief forecasts add another layer of understanding to the picture.
